The Food Business: Food Innovation Podcast

Broccoli

Last month, we headed to our first trade show to raise awareness of our broccoli crisps and how food innovation can improve sustainability. The response was amazing.

Broccoli buzz

The Growers Garden stand was packed from start to finish, and it wasn’t long until trade media noticed the broccoli buzz. Reby Media popped by for a visit and we had a lovely chat with the producer of the industry podcast ‘The Food Business’. The podcast covers the top food innovation trends at Speciality and Fine Food Fair 2018, and we’re thrilled to be included among them.

Producer and host, Rhian Owen, managed to pull our very own Leanne Stokes away from the crowds for a quick interview. It was a dream chance to promote food innovation, sustainability, and of course our delicious broccoli crisps:

“We’ve got four variants in our broccoli crisps and fresh broccoli is the number the one ingredient across all four. All of them are vegan, gluten free, high in fibre, low in saturated fat, and the 22g bags are under 100 calories. It’s the wonky veg, that doesn’t quite make it to the retailers, that goes into our crisps; this is our bid to reduce food waste and promote sustainable farming.”

Brands to watch

We’re pretty new to the spotlight, but we’re chuffed to bits with our first podcast mention. A big thanks goes to Rhian from Reby Media for the opportunity (and for just being so nice)!

We’d also like to wish the very best of luck to all the other brands on the podcast; The Foraging Fox, Squbes, Ooh La La Sweets, and O’Donnell Moonshine.

You can discover more about these exciting brands in the full episode: The Food Business: #10 Success at the fair. And listen in from 13:38 to 15:28 to hear how Growers Garden broccoli crisps were the product that “got everyone’s attention” at SFFF 2018.
